Jose Pedro Castillo Terrones was on Wednesday officially named President of the Republic of Peru for the 2021-2026 term.
Afterwards, Dina Boluarte was sworn in as Vice-President of the Republic.
Spanish King Felipe VI, as well as Vice-Presidents Hugo Velazquez (Paraguay) and Hamilton Mourão (Brazil), are also present in the ceremony.
The new President of the Republic was born on October 19, 1969, in Tacabamba district (Cajamarca region), where he had been residing until recently.
He is the third of nine siblings. His parents are Ireño Castillo Nuñez and Mavila Terrones Guevara.
The Head of State studied at Octavio Matta Contreras Pedagogical Institute in Cutervo and graduated in education from Cesar Vallejo University.
He also holds a master's degree in educational psychology from said institution.
From 1995 to the present, Mr. Castillo has practiced his profession as teacher at educational institution 10465 in Puña village, Tacabamba —the first school he had attended as a child.
