PM: Institutionalism, legal certainty exist in Peru

Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva on Tuesday affirmed Peru is a stable and democratic country that operates within an institutional and legal certainty framework.

Likewise, President Martin Vizcarra's administration has begun a process of political-justice reform at all levels, the official explained. 

Furthermore, economic figures have shown the South American country is progressively growing and will close 2018 with a 4.1% expansion rate. In 2021 —when the current administration ends its term in officeit will near 5%

"We are confident this economic growth will be joined by institutional integrity. This is one of the President's goals," he expressed. 

The Prime Minister went on to add the Inca country will invest US$8 billion —over the next three years— in the reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed by Coastal El Niño phenomenon back in 2017.

Moreover, Villanueva pointed out the nation must continue growing and receiving more investments in order to close gaps and generate more jobs

Additionally, the Cabinet chief expressed his gratitude to Spain for supporting Peru's intention to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

For that reason, the Inca nation undertakes great efforts aimed at solving problems such as anemia, while investing heavily in sanitation infrastructure and transport sectors.

Lastly, the official acknowledged that corruption is still ingrained in Peru. Thus, one of the bicentennial's objectives is to build an honest country.  

Remarks were made during the inauguration of the Peru-Spain Business Forum in the nation's capital city of Lima. The event was also attended by King Felipe VI, who currently pays a three-day visit to the country.
