At the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Social Policy Ministerial Meeting, Peru's Permanent Representative to International Economic Organizations based in Paris, Ambassador Ana Rosa Valdivieso, proposed the development of appropriate methodologies to measure and address multidimensional poverty, as well as to better identify needs and beneficiaries.

Before the attending authorities, Ambassador Valdivieso highlighted the importance of systematizing successful experiences in policies aimed at reducing inequality in access to infrastructure and digital tools to optimize public interventions in social programs.

In her address, the diplomat shared Peru's social progress and challenges, highlighting the creation and role of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) as a turning point in addressing social policies and the comprehensive vision of the National Policy for Development and Social Inclusion by 2030.

The ambassador highlighted that this policy incorporates the use of technological tools for managing information on social programs and public interventions, enabling greater efficiency in optimizing and maximizing the positive impact of social policy on the target population.

She explained that, within this framework, the Social Guidance and Information Office (OFIS) was established in 2023 to manage the data administered by Midis.

Thus, the trajectory of users in receiving one or more social interventions over time is analyzed, facilitating the assessment of the availability and coverage of public interventions across territories for decision-making.

Similarly, the envoy reported that Peru is working to implement and scale the use of technologies and digital data in a dashboard to monitor the Results-Oriented Budget Program for Early Childhood Development.

This interactive data visualization tool is designed for decision-making in financial and physical programming.
