Peru: General Commanders of Armed Forces express support for President Castillo

The General Commanders of the Armed Forces have expressed their support for the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo, in his capacity as Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces of Peru.

Via social media, the Presidency of the Republic reported they met with the top dignitary at the Government Palace in Lima last Friday.

The Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Army General Manuel Gomez de La Torre, participated in said meeting.

Also attending were General Commander of the Peruvian Army Walter Cordova, General Commander of the Peruvian Navy Alberto Alcala, and General Commander of the Peruvian Air Force Alfonso Artadi.

Other activities

On Saturday, the Head of State expressed greetings to the aforementioned military institutions to commemorate the Day of the Peruvian Armed Forces

Moreover, the top official visited the military detachment in charge of guarding the Peruvian, Ecuadorian, and Colombian tripartite border.

After returning to Lima, Mr. Castillo participated in a tribute and procession to honor the Virgen de las Mercedes (Virgin of Mercy) —the patron saint of the Peruvian Armed Forces.
