Casa Peru in Moscow amazes visitors

12:07 | Moscow (Russia), Jun. 30.

Casa Peru in Moscow closed its doors last Thursday following eleven days of promotion activities that captivated thousands of visitors from all corners of the world on the occasion of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Held at Manege Exhibition Center, this initiative offered more than 6,000 daily tastings of various Peruvian dishes, such as ceviche, causa, and quinoa tabbouleh.

Likewise, 2,000 cups of coffee, 1,500 fruit smoothies, and 50 liters of emoliente (herbal tea) were served every day.

Besides the delicious Peruvian gastronomy, attendees also were delighted by national flagship drink pisco thanks to the 1,500 liters that more than 20 wineries had donated to conquer the Russian market.

In addition, 10,000 bags of quinoa chips, giant corn, ginger cookies, among others native products were handed out to the public.

On the other hand, Casa Peru featured at least 130 hours of artistic presentations —including traditional dances and other cultural expressions from the South American country's coast, highlands, and jungle.

Launched by Peru's country brand (Marca Peru), this event was aimed at promoting the Inca nation's wonders during the abovementioned soccer's mega event.

Other activities

Casa Peru served as a trading platform, as it welcomed over 400 Russian tour operators and more than 120 entrepreneurs, who had the opportunity to learn about Peru's main export products.

It also became a meeting point for several soccer fans from different nations since every World Cup match was broadcasted live at this site.

As part of these efforts, Casa Peru had a trailer which visited the cities where Peru's national team played against Denmark, France, and Australia.

This strategy was led by PromPeru in partnership with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Culture Ministry, and Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex), as well as several regional governments.
