The 2018 FIFA World Cup provides a good opportunity to showcase Peru's culinary diversity, exportable supply and tourism potential, Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) said on Friday.

"We are always looking to put Peru in the spotlight, and this is one of those great opportunities for doing so," PromPeru Communications and Country Image Director Isabella Falco expressed.

Within this context, a group of Peruvian chefs have volunteered to cook for the national team and foreigners attending the sporting event.

Likewise, Peruvian fashion designers and fine fabric manufacturers proposed making the national players' suits.

"This way, alpaca garments will be promoted in Russia, and the world will get to know Peru's fiber quality," she told Andina news agency.

On the other hand, Peru will attempt to promote its tourist attractions in Russia so that locals and foreign visitors list Peru as their next travel destination

"We are already working on this. We are getting in touch with Peruvian chefs, and producers of superfoods such as quinoa, potatoes, blueberries, among others," she said.
