On Christmas Eve, the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Sunday conveyed a message of peace, unity and optimism to continue forging a new history for the country.

The Head of State delivered this message on the occasion of Christmas day.

Her remarks were shared by the Presidency of the Republic in a video posted on social media channels.

"I wish that the arrival of Baby Jesus fills the homes of each of us with peace, unity and optimism," Mrs. Boluarte pointed out.

"It is a date to reflect on faith, on the divine child who tells us there is a child who is born in our hearts every day," she added.

The dignitary affirmed that 2023 was not easy, which is why she expressed her hope that next year Peruvians will walk together as a family forging a new history.

"I hope that the sacred family of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus will always stay in each home across the north, the center, and the south (of the country), in the jungle, mountains and coast," she remarked.
