President Jose Jeri held a meeting with transport leaders from various regions to listen to the sector's main concerns and improve safety conditions in their daily work.

The top official said that the ministers present took note of the demands in order to improve order and the Executive Branch's response to the issues faced by transport operators nationwide.

In turn, Interior Minister Vicente Tiburcio mentioned that there are key areas such as prevention, which is already being implemented in Lima.

This will be replicated across all regions to enhance security with more police agents on the streets.

The Cabinet member stated that the Executive Branch has been strengthening the Peruvian National Police (PNP), thus improving criminal investigation and operational intelligence, in addition to creating new specialized units.

"Investigation and prevention must be properly strengthened; that is a fact," Tiburcio said as he addressed the transport representatives.

This event took place at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima, on Wednesday.
