Peru: ONPE counted 100% of electoral records for Congress and Andean Parliament

The National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) reported that on Saturday, June 13, it completed the count of 100% of the electoral records corresponding to the congressional election and the vote for Peruvian representatives to the Andean Parliament.

The electoral body said that, after the electoral records pending count were resolved by the various Special Electoral Boards (JEE), they were incorporated into its Electoral Computing System.

As a result, the count of all electoral records for the bicameral Congress and Andean Parliament elections was completed.

In the elections held on April 12, members of the new bicameral Congress were elected.

It will comprise 60 senators and 130 deputies, as well as the country's five representatives to the Andean Parliament.

Of the 60 senators, 30 are elected by voters nationwide, while the remaining 30 are chosen in 27 electoral districts. Each district elects one senator, except Metropolitan Lima, where four are elected.

The 130 deputies are elected in 27 electoral districts, each of which chooses a set number of representatives.
