Peru's Finance Minister Luis Carranza said Friday that Peru has sufficient resources to manage and organize a successful Pan American Games in 2015.

During the Lima bid presentation to the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) aiming to give Lima the right to host such games, Garcia said the economic growth experienced by the country is the best way to judge how successful the Pan American Games will be if held in Lima.

"Peru has a real strong economy. We have sufficient resources to manage and organize a successful event, leaving a legacy," he said to the 42 PASO member countries representatives meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Fiscal policies have improved in recent years and, therefore, public saving was on average 12 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and over three times Peru's estimated fiscal deficit for next years.

He also stressed the country has an ambitious investment program for the next 25 years that will reach 6.5 percent of GDP by 2012.
