From then on, the indicator posted positive results throughout 2025.

The increases ranged from 0.25% to 18.09%, with notable gains recorded in September (11.13%), November (11.14%), and December (18.09%), the latter representing the highest growth rate posted last year.

The favorable trend continued in 2026. Domestic cement consumption increased in January (13.64%), February (11.53%), March (17.87%), and April (13.92%), consolidating the momentum observed since the previous year.

According to INEI's monthly reports, the indicator's positive performance was primarily associated with progress in initiatives carried out by the private sector, including real estate developments, private infrastructure projects, and self-built housing construction activities.

The results observed since February 2025 reflect a sustained recovery in construction-related demand, following a period of weaker dynamism recorded in 2024.

Domestic cement consumption is considered one of the main gauges of construction and economic activity in Peru, as it reflects the momentum of real estate projects and infrastructure works.

Its performance is often regarded as an indicator of investment levels in both the public and private sectors.
