The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) presented the new Polymetallic Potential Map of Peru, a technical tool that identifies and highlights areas with the greatest presence of various metals of economic interest, such as zinc, lead, silver, and other associated minerals.
The document was prepared by the Mining Promotion Directorate (DPM) of the Minem, based on updated geological and metallogenic information, and offers a comprehensive overview of the country's mining potential and opportunities for the development of new exploration projects.
In this regard, Peru's polymetallic potential represents one of the most notable strengths of our geology, concentrating a wide variety of mineral resources that support the diversification of national mining production.
"These metals are essential not only for traditional industry, but also for sectors linked to the global energy and technological transition," the DPM points out.
It should be noted that the publication of the Polymetallic Potential Map seeks to promote responsible investment, generate local employment, foster infrastructure, and contribute to the country's sustainable economic growth.
It also constitutes a key instrument for strengthening the competitiveness of the Peruvian mining sector and consolidating Peru's position as a global leader in the production of base and precious metals.
In this way, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) reaffirms its institutional commitment to providing transparent, up-to-date, and freely accessible geological and technical information for the benefit of the sector's sustainable development and the well-being of all Peruvians.
