Peru's Congress, led by Cesar Zumaeta, honored on Tuesday women's national youth volleyball team with the Medal for Sports Merit for their participation in Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
The ceremony, organized by Congresswoman Ceanida Uribe Medina, was attended by congress members Luciana Leon, Hilaria Supa and Luisa Cuculiza, as well as 26 players who participated in the Olympics.
Congress’ Medal of Honor was given to youth volleyball team and coach Natalia Malaga for winning the bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
According to Cesar Zumaeta, these victories bring pride to the country and set an example for next generations.
The congress’ president informed that sports budget has grown to over 200 million in 2010.
