APEC Peru 2024 Presidency.
Likewise, the sector's head indicated that Peru presented the concept note titled "Exchange of good practices in the development of green hydrogen roadmaps in the Asia-Pacific region."
During his speech,
Minister Vera stressed that our country will host this important world forum next year, welcoming all member economies, as well as inviting them to actively participate in the previous working meetings and enjoy Peruvian hospitality.
Bilateral cooperation with Japan
Both authorities considered the existing possibilities, including the mutual interest in entering into a Memorandum of Understanding to favor energy transition.
Also, within the framework of
APEC,
they committed to work on the development of a regional context that promotes green hydrogen as a multiple-use energy source.
During this meeting,
Minister Fusae referred to the upcoming GX Week, starting on September 25 in Tokyo, with the aim of promoting the transformation towards clean energy sources around the world and which will bring together the participation of leading companies in the matter, thus
extending an invitation to her Peruvian counterpart.
Afterwards,
Minister Vera visited the First Mode company, which designs green hydrogen applications for mining. It operates in South America and the United States.
At this Energy Ministerial Meeting —which takes place from August 15 to 16— issues related to effective strategies will be addressed to accelerate sustainable and inclusive clean energy transitions, which guarantee resilience, access, and energy security throughout the APEC region.
