"As a democrat, here at the Judicial Branch headquarters, the first thing I want to do is reaffirm my full respect for the separation and independence of powers, a fundamental pillar of the democratic system," she stated.
The top official deemed as opportune highlighting the role played by outgoing Judiciary Chairwoman Elvia Barrios in the defense of legality and democratic order in Peru.
Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte recognized the work of Attorney General Patricia Benavides.
"In the same way, I want to take this opportunity to wish the greatest success to the new head of the Supreme Court, Javier Arevalo Vela, in the great task of guaranteeing and providing timely and effective justice as our brothers and sisters expect," she said.
Commitment
The President reaffirmed the commitment to work for a judicial system that meets the expectations of all Peruvians, supporting the initiatives and economic requirements of the Judiciary in order to strengthen its work and results.
Furthermore, the Head of State called for making progress on the implementation of the Electronic Judicial File so as to guarantee "faster and more timely justice," as well as on continuing with the strategy of flagrante delicto modules as a measure to effectively fight crime nationwide.
"The Transition Government will redouble its efforts in this short period to guarantee legal stability and clear rules for domestic and foreign investment. Peru must be a serious country with social, stable, and predictable peace," she told attendees.
The top official said that, in the judicial field, there is a pending agenda toward citizens, who expect a more timely and effective justice administration, which serves to protect all Peruvians in every region.
Dialogue round
Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte reminded citizens that, in order to build social peace, a dialogue with all sectors began "without exception" with the aim of reaching consensus on priority issues for the nation.
"For a long time, the demands of regions have been made invisible. We must act against a long list of forgotten needs; we cannot find out about demands only whenever conflict breaks out; we must act with a sense of urgency and provide immediate responses to our brothers," she added.
Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte reiterated her commitment to work to guarantee an orderly and peaceful transition, where dialogue, sanity, peace, and understanding prevail.
