Peru: International health cooperation reaches US$88 million

International health cooperation to support the efforts of the Peruvian Government in the fight against COVID-19 amounts to $88 million, Foreign Affairs Minister Mario has reported.

The Cabinet member underlined the importance of international aid in this matter —organized and implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs— in favor of Peru against COVID-19 through the provision of equipment and medical material to face the pandemic.

They include mechanical ventilators, personal protective equipment (PPE), and diagnostic tests, among others.


As is known, donations have come from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, China, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and South Korea, among others.

Concerning the political, economic, social, and institutional crisis that the Bolivarian country is going through, the Peruvian government official emphasized that one of group's priorities is to support its convergence with other international actors such as the International Contact Group, the European Union or the United States.

Those efforts intend to search for alternatives towards the holding of free and democratic elections in Venezuela, he noted.
