Peru: German experts visit Peru to support fight against COVID-19

Two experts from the Federal Republic of Germany landed in Lima (Peru) to reinforce the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the South American country's Health Ministry has reported.

Researcher Felix Drexler and microbiologist Michael Nagel arrived in the capital city on Wednesday along with 100,000 molecular tests and laboratory materials donated by the German Government to its Peruvian counterpart.

The envoys will strengthen actions against the novel coronavirus in the regions of Loreto and Tumbes.

Upon arrival, they were received by Peru's National Health Institute Chief Cesar Cabezas and Germany's Ambassador Stefan Andreas Herzberg.
