and Japanese Ambassador Sadayuki Tsuchiya on Tuesday signed an agreement to implement a Japan Plan for Emergency Non-Refundable Financial Cooperation called "Economic and Social Development Program."
The accord was designed in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will allow the donation of goods worth 900 million Japanese Yen (approximately US$8.3 million) to the
Peruvian Ministry of Health.
Following the increased flow of people and trade globally, the spread of COVID-19 constitutes a serious threat to world economies and societies —a task that the international community must jointly address and in which Japan wishes to maintain a position of leadership.
In the context of the current pandemic, Peru has supported the return of Japanese citizens to their country of origin.
