The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday affirmed that he will not give up on his commitment to work for the nation, adding that he will not stop until he sees public works become a reality.

On a working visit to Huancavelica region, the Head of State said he does not need those —who do not think like the people— to impose an agenda on him.

"They ask for the impeachment of a person elected by the people while we are undertaking efforts to provide (natural) gas to all Peruvians, while we want not only a track to reach (out to the people), but also education and health (services) for children," Mr. Castillo expressed.

"I am not going to give up; I have come to reiterate my commitment to work for the sake of the country's most remote peoples (...) I have gone through tough struggles, and today —that I am part of the Government— I will not back down until I see public works become a reality, starting with Huancavelica," he underlined.

The Head of State added that "I invoke Congress members, who ask for something different, to come, walk with me, and ask for an impeachment before the people and not within four walls."

Mr. Castillo said he was respectful and kept silent. Nonetheless, he is obliged to tell the truth and inform Peruvians what he has been doing during the more than 100 days of his administration. Within this framework, he asked lawmakers to also give an account of their time in office.

Furthermore, the top official reiterated the importance of carrying out public works in Peruvian regions without stealing a penny from the people, and with companies that are accountable and provide the people with jobs and health services.

Under this premise, the President asked the Transportation Ministry to put the Huancavelica Airport Project on schedule, so that it can rely on better communication and trade possibilities for its products.
