Friends and fans of Peruvian bolero singer Lucho Barrios have gathered outside the National Museum to say goodbye to the ‘Father of Bolero', who died Wednesday of a heart attack.
Lucho Barrios's memorial service at the Museo de la Nación (National Museum) in Lima will provide a public farewell for the 'Father of Bolero', a slow-tempo Latin-style of music, accompanied usually with guitars and castanets.
Hundreds of fans will be able to file past Lucho Barrios' casket and pay their respects for several hours on Thursday.
Peruvian President Alan Garcia, who arrived at Lucho Barrios' memorial service on Wednesday night, said his death was a huge loss for Peru.
Milagros Barrios, the artist’s daughter, announced that her father's burial is due to take place on Friday (May 7) at 1400 local time at Mapfre cemetery in Huachipa.
