The President of the Republic of Peru, Jose Jeri Ore, led working meetings with former members of the Special Intelligence Group (GEIN) and commissioners of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) with the goal of receiving effective and immediately actionable proposals to combat crime nationwide.

Both meetings are part of the Executive Branch's commitment to prioritize the fight against crime and restore peace for Peruvians so that the advancement of economic activity is not limited by citizen insecurity.

The Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio Orbezo, and General (r) and former commander of the prominent police group, Marco Miyashiro Arashiro, participated in the meeting with the former members of the GEIN.

During his speech, President Jeri asserted that the knowledge and operational capacity of those who defeated terrorism will be key to strengthening the government's upcoming citizen security actions.

Meeting with Police commissioners

During the meeting with the Police commissioners, the head of the peruvian state thanked the police officers for their continued commitment to working for the population in difficult times such as the current ones.

For his part, Minister Tiburcio affirmed that a historic meeting was held, as all the heads of Lima's police stations responded to the Executive's call. They then presented the differentiated actions they have been implementing in their jurisdictions in order to replicate the best security plans for the entire country.

President Jeri stated that the proposals presented will be evaluated and, if possible, implemented as soon as possible with the goal of halting the spread of crime.

In addition to the head of state and the head of the Ministry of the Interior, the General Commander of the Peruvian National Police, Oscar Arriola Delgado, as well as senior officers and chiefs of the PNP also participated in the meeting with the commissioners.
