Peru's President Boluarte travels to U.S. for APEC Summit

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte travels to San Francisco, United States, to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Summit and related events this week.

According to the official schedule, the presidential trip started on Tuesday at 00:05 hours (local time).

The Peruvian Air Force aircraft took off from Air Group No. 8 in Callao region, Peru.

Authorization

On November 9, Congress approved the draft legislative resolution that authorizes President Boluarte to leave the national territory from November 14 to 18.

This measure was officialized via Legislative Resolution No. 31924 published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on November 10.

The purpose of this authorization is for the Head of State to participate in the 30th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.

Within this framework, Peru will receive the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the APEC forum.

According to the document, the top official will remain in charge of the Presidential Office using digital technologies, which adopt digital security mechanisms and guarantee the security of the means to be used.

This measure was established within the framework of the provisions of Article 8-A of Law No. 29158 (Organic Law of the Executive Branch) introduced by virtue of Law No. 31810, as well as the current regulations regarding digital security and trust in Peru.
