Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Pareja said the electoral materials for Peruvians residing abroad ahead of the presidential runoff scheduled for June 7 will be dispatched this week.

Within this framework, the Cabinet member referred to the shipment of electoral equipment and documents to consular offices.

"The boxes containing all the electoral equipment and materials will arrive here on Thursday (...) and they will be dispatched immediately the following day," he stated.

In that regard, the minister indicated that the logistical deployment has already been organized.

Likewise, he assured citizens that electoral materials will arrive on time at their respective destinations abroad.

The career diplomat also called on Peruvian citizens residing abroad to participate in the presidential runoff election.

"I want to encourage and call on all Peruvian voters abroad to go out and vote, and to make arrangements in advance because many of them live somewhat far from the consulates (...)," Pareja stated.

"So, they should plan ahead, go vote, and polling station members should report for duty," he added.

The government official spoke to reporters after attending the opening ceremony of a documentary and photographic exhibition marking the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between Peru and Bolivia on Monday.
