The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday announced that on Friday, June 9, she will provide an assessment of her administration's first six months in office.

Within this framework, Mrs. Boluarte will show the nation the measures, actions, and achievements of the Government.

At today's event, the top official indicated that the upcoming meeting with the population serves to fulfill her commitment to run a transparent administration.

"On this coming Friday (June 9), we will present the assessment of the (first) six months in office; it will be an opportunity to show all Peruvians the measures, actions, social investments, and achievements by our Government, as well as the challenges that we face ahead," she expressed.

President Boluarte explained that it is possible to visualize in the future a country which grows and produces, that generates jobs and closes social gaps, while "strengthening democracy and building its future with faith and hope."

"Dear compatriots, almost a century and a half after the feat of Arica, fate again demands us to fight against poverty, inequality, and corruption, which mainly affect the most vulnerable people, as well as hinder our growth and development," she indicated.

In this sense, Mrs. Boluarte indicated that Peruvian men and women, wherever they are, "have a sacred duty to fulfill," which is to "maintain unity and peace, which we are building based on effort, with the conviction that it is the only way to transform the course of our country."

"Today, more than ever, we must say no to violence, no to extremism, no to demagogy. Peru does not want to return to the dark times that only caused pain and suffering; Peru wants to build its future with faith, optimism, and hope," she expressed.

Moreover, the President recalled that a few months ago democracy had received "an onslaught and was attacked by a coup d'état," whose motives —she said— are becoming better known.

The Head of State added it is known that the attempted coup was not an individual or improvised act, but a planned blow in which various actors might have participated.

OECD

President Boluarte affirmed that the Government has the duty to continue strengthening stability and democracy, thanks to which "we have just delivered in France to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) the memorandum to initiate our accession to this organization."

"Peru walks firmly towards the high standards of the OECD; coincidentally, today June 7, the date on which we pay tribute to (Peruvian hero Francisco) Bolognesi, as well as to the compatriots of El Morro (Arica Hill) and we renew the oath of fidelity to the flag, we celebrate six months of Government," she added.
