The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday clearly and categorically ruled out acts of corruption committed in Peru in recent times.

Within this framework, the Head of State affirmed that she will not allow "characters with subaltern political interests," who are making last-ditch efforts from the National Police's Directorate of Special Operations (Diroes) jail, "to attempt to weaken this democratic and constitutional government."

"I take this opportunity to sharply and categorically rule out corruption acts that have been committed in our country in recent times," she said in her speech.

Similarly, the top official indicated that her administration works day by day to solve the country's problems, adding that it "fights head-on against corruption."

"Here, there will be no impunity for corrupt people and corrupters; we are taking the corresponding measures to separate from the (Peruvian) State those bad elements that had colluded with corruption, and prevent the tentacles of those groups, which until recently were in the spheres of power, from continuing to act with total impunity," she said.

In this sense, the President affirmed that nothing will divert her attention from continuing with the effort of helping the affected compatriots, from reactivating tourism and the economy, "in order to improve the (living) conditions of all Peruvians."

Rules out

Later, in remarks to reporters, the President indicated that people from her entourage had not received money from anybody during the past presidential campaign.

She added that Maritza Sanchez and Henry Shimabukuro had been recommended by the then-candidate Pedro Castillo.

"Since they could not break us, as we will resist out of respect for democracy, the rule of law, and institutions, now they (opponents) attempt —with last-ditch efforts— to involve us in acts that they had committed. Dina Boluarte does not have a guilty conscience, neither as a candidate, nor as Vice-President, nor as a Minister, or even less as President. I am going to govern with our Ministers with clean hands," she expressed.

Lastly, Mrs. Boluarte indicated that wherever there are signs of corruption or of public administration mismanagement, whether in the Armed Forces or the National Police, "we will put a firm hand and order, because the country needs to walk in order."
