The Government has made official the extension of the state of emergency, for 60 calendar days, in various districts of 18 regions across the country, in light of the possibility of heavy rains and a potential El Niño phenomenon.
The extension, to be effective as of October 7, will apply to various districts in some provinces of the regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huancavelica, Huanuco, Ica, Junin, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, Piura, San Martin, Tacna, and Tumbes.
Likewise, the document states that the decision will enable the implementation of immediate and necessary exception actions to reduce the very high risk, as well as the corresponding response and rehabilitation measures.
In this sense, the decree states that the respective regional governments and local governments included in the list, in coordination with and under the supervision of the
National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci), with the participation of State ministries, as well as public and private institutions, will continue the implementation of immediate and necessary exception measures.
Moreover, the legal instrument provides that there must be a direct causal link between said actions and the interventions, as well as the event itself, and that said measures could be modified according to the needs and safety elements that may arise during their implementation, supported by technical studies of the competent entities.
Similarly, it states that the implementation of the actions foreseen in this supreme decree will be financed from the institutional budget of the institutions involved and will not require additional resources from the public treasury.
