The leaders of State powers and autonomous constitutional bodies met at a Council of State session on Tuesday night. At the event, they rejected any act that endangers Peruvian citizens' lives and integrity.

In a statement released by the Presidency of the Republic, the participants supported the Constitutional Government so as to immediately restore public order within the parameters required by a constitutional and democratic rule of law, with unrestricted respect for the fundamental rights of people.

"We reject violent acts and means that endanger the lives and physical integrity of Peruvian men and women, affect public and private property, as well as the adequate provision of public services, which will be subject to a diligent investigation by the justice system," the document reads.

Citizens were also urged to channel their demands, concerns, and proposals through democratic channels and dialogue processes to be promoted by the Executive Branch for this purpose.

"We convene civil society to a permanent political dialogue with public authorities through democratic spaces with the aim of reaching agreements that allow the recovery of tranquility, social peace, and trust in the State," the statement indicated.

Similarly, they lamented the loss of human lives that occurred in Apurimac and Arequipa regions as a consequence of the violent acts. Therefore, they expressed their heartfelt condolences to the victims' families.

"We declare the Council of State in permanent session," the document concluded.
