At this meeting, the excellent level of the bilateral relationship was highlighted, along with the need to further strengthen it.

Cooperation priorities

The authorities agreed that joint projects should focus on helping close Peru’s infrastructure gap, as well as promoting trade and new investments.

The dialogue highlighted the deep historical relationship that has united both countries since the early days of the Republic.

Similarly, high-level visits were recalled, including the presidential meeting in Nice and the sessions held by ministers from both sides in the areas of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and other strategic sectors.

Towards the Bicentennial

A central point of the recent meeting was the upcoming commemoration of the bicentennial of diplomatic ties between Peru and France.

In this context, it was agreed to coordinate the determination of the start date of bilateral relations based on historical records, as well as to promote commemorative activities for the 200 years of friendship and cooperation.
