The faith in the Lord of Miracles has spread around the world, and Canada was no exception.

Indeed, the Peruvian Embassy celebrated a Mass in honor of the 'Black Christ' in Ottawa on October 26, coinciding with Latin American Heritage Month celebrations.

The Peruvian community in the aforementioned city organized the tribute.

It took place at the Sagrada Familia Parish, known for holding Spanish-language services for the city's Latino community.

Peru's Ambassador to Canada, Manuel Talavera, joined the Lord of Miracles celebrations alongside the Peruvian community and local attendees. They showed great devotion to the "Christ of Pachacamilla."

About Lord of Miracles

The Lord of Miracles constitutes Peru's most heavily attended religious festivity and is celebrated by all strata of society in homage to the Crucified Christ.

This image is a replica of a centuries-old mural of the crucifixion painted by a slave in the 17th century.

Thus, the Lord of Miracles became a motive for worship after the wall on which it was painted miraculously survived a destructive earthquake unscathed.
