Peru's Vargas Llosa: Venezuela is the only self-destructing country

18:31 | Madrid (Spain), Feb. 27.

Peruvian writer and Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa on Wednesday affirmed Venezuela is the only case regarding a self-destructing country that has been registered in Latin American history.

Within this framework, he blamed Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro for the status of the Bolivarian nation.

In this sense, Vargas Llosa demanded the exit of Maduro from power, so Interim President Juan Guaido initiates an electoral process and a democratic government can start the reconstruction of the Bolivarian nation, which "will be long and very difficult."

Nonetheless, he indicated the reconstruction of Venezuela is —indeed— possible and assured that the international community is willing to assist in this process.
