reported that Peruvian goods exports increased 37% from January to May 2026 to US$45.128 billion, marking 25 consecutive months of growth in overseas sales.
Mincetur noted that the growth was driven mainly by higher mining exports (metallic and non-metallic), which totaled US$33.393 billion, up 53.1%.
This was due to higher international prices, as well as larger copper and gold shipment volumes.
Fishing sector exports also stood out, totaling US$2.114 billion (+4.1%). Agricultural exports reached US$4.732 billion (+5.3%).
Meanwhile, forestry shipments amounted to US$29 million (+9.1%).
Mining shipments
In the mining sector, higher exports were recorded for lead (US$1.491 billion; +202.7%); silver concentrate (US$916 million; +32.1%); gold (US$11.776 billion; +65.1%); copper (US$15.515 billion; +48.2%); and zinc (US$1.263 billion; +23.3%).
Agricultural sector
In the agricultural sector, fruit exports stood out, totaling US$2.72 billion, up 16.1% (blueberries, grapes, and avocados).
Coffee exports reached US$230 million (+29.4%); natural colorants totaled US$168 million (+4.8%); and quinoa exports amounted to US$64 million (+23.3%).
Fishing sector
In the fishing sector, standout exports included frozen and canned fish (US$224 million; +22.4%); flying fish roe (US$86 million; +31.4%); and scallops (US$58 million; +77.4%).
Metallurgical sector
Finally, in the metallurgical sector, higher sales were recorded for zinc ingots (US$163 million; +18.8%) and alloyed silver (US$91 million; +59.9%).
Number of exporters
Following the record set in 2025 (9,947 exporters), Peru's exporter base continued to grow in the first five months of 2026, rising 3.4% to 7,325, of which 65% are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
Main destination markets
Mincetur noted that the destinations for Peruvian goods exports expanded to 162 countries from January to May 2026.
China, the United States, and the European Union were the main markets for Peru's products.
It said that exports to China totaled US$17.39 billion (+44.3%).
Meanwhile, shipments to the United States reached US$4.275 billion (+19.8%) and exports to the EU amounted to US$3.957 billion (+11.7%).
Mincetur also highlighted higher exports to India, which totaled US$4.798 billion (+257.6%), as well as to Canada, at US$2.382 billion (+38.2%), and Switzerland, at US$1.546 billion (+53.4%), as evidence of the diversification of Peru's export basket.
