The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday announced that she will be traveling to Peru's interior regions to listen to the population's demands —after lamenting the loss of human lives due to protests held over recent days.

In view of these events, the Head of State said her administration has convened the leaders of the Catholic, Christian, and Evangelical Churches so as to set up a dialogue roundtable in every region where mobilizations have occurred.

The top official added that, supported by governors who are also summoned by the Executive Branch, these spaces will be opened to call the leaders who head these marches with the aim of listening to their demands and channel them.

"As head of the Executive Branch, I will be traveling to the interior of the country to meet their demands. All these efforts have a clear objective: social peace in the country," Mrs. Boluarte indicated.

In her speech, the Head of State pointed out that the Executive Branch continues to gather the demands of those who have legitimately taken to the streets to raise their voices.

At the same time, the top official condemned "the acts of vandalism that some radicals, using people's goodwill and their right to mobilize, employed to attack the police, the military, civilians, public and private institutions, and the family economy, which they continue to damage a few days prior to Christmas."

Furthermore, the Head of State called on protestors to calm down so as to continue working in peace, with the clear objective of moving forward.

"Peru cannot stop, let us unite and move forward," she underlined.
