National production grew 3.56% in July 2026, driven by the positive performance of most economic sectors, including Trade (6.79%), Construction (9.85%), and Other Services, the
National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported Tuesday.
INEI Chief Gaspar Moran Flores noted that Services Provided to Companies (4.07%); Finance (3.13%); Government Services (3.46%); Transportation, Storage, and Courier Services (2.86%); Electricity, Gas, and Water (7.30%); Accommodation and Restaurants (3.48%); Mining and Hydrocarbons (0.24%); and Telecommunications (0.30%) sectors also posted favorable results.
By contrast, the Agriculture and Livestock (-1.23%); Fishing (-27.44%); and Manufacturing (-1.81%) sectors declined due to weather-related and production factors.
INEI indicated that unusually warm weather was recorded during the month, with temperatures above normal levels.
Heavy rainfall was reported in the west-central highlands, upper northern jungle, and upper central jungle, amid the gradual consolidation of the El Niño phenomenon.
Accordingly, Peru's economy posted cumulative growth of 3.13% between January and July 2026.
It recorded a positive variation of 3.32% in the 12-month period from August 2025 to July 2026 as well.
