Peru President: 2019 budget to undergo substantial changes

18:00 | Lima, Aug. 27.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Monday affirmed the public sector's budget will experience substantial changes next year in order to meet the main needs of citizens all over the country.

According to the statesman, the Council of Ministers is expected to pass a document soon before it moves to Congress for debate and approval.

"The budget includes substantial changes, there are priorities. For instance, there is a very important allocation of resources to fight violence against women, but for real," he told America TV channel.

Likewise, Vizcarra mentioned that another priority contained in the budget is the fight against anemia, given the fact "we could not lower it over the past ten years."

"Another priority constitutes our southern fellow-countrymen who deal with inclement frosts, as the only support they get from the State every year is a few blankets, which does not resolve the issue," he explained.

In this sense, he announced a massive construction of warm houses for next year. The structure of these dwellings is intended to optimize the temperature of rooms to protect families' health.
