14:23 | Lima, Aug. 2.

The Executive Branch is working on the corresponding bill to increase the 2019 Public Budget by 5%, compared to last year's budget, Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva informed Thursday.

It must be noted the Public Budget for the 2018 Fiscal Year amounted to S/157.158 billion (about US$47.987 billion).

"According to the (Multiannual Macroeconomic) Framework, we will have to reach the budget figure, but I guess we will see an expansion of around 5% for next year," the official told RPP radio and TV news station.

In this regard, Oliva noted the 2019 Public Budget Bill is being prepared by the Government and will be submitted to Congress in the coming weeks, as the deadline is August 31.

Growth

On the other hand, the cabinet member remarked the Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM) 2019-2021 will include some upward adjustments in Peru's economic growth forecasts.

The MMM is a document containing the Inca country's macroeconomic projections for the next three years.

"We are projecting a growth rate of around 4% for this year and higher rates for the coming years, (...)" Oliva remarked.

The minister went on to add his portfolio currently works on this new MMM, which must then be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval.
