Peruvian Prime Minister Salvador del Solar on Thursday participated in the "Men supporting equality and alternation" roundtable, which took place within the framework of the debate of the political reform submitted by the Vizcarra administration to Congress.

During the meeting, the high-ranking official signed the "Women towards the Bicentennial" declaration that requests Parliament to vote in favor of alternation

The above-mentioned political participation mechanism will guarantee a true and equal representation for women

"Women in our country do not have the same opportunities as men, the same security, or the same freedoms. (…). For that reason, we are putting forward a political reform for the benefit of all Peruvians," he expressed.

Likewise, Del Solar underlined freedom is a "concept that is gained day by day," and the political reform —proposed by the Executive Branch— is an opportunity to renew the commitment to freedom.

This activity was promoted by lawmakers Tania Pariona and Marisa Glave.

On the occasion, they were joined by Ministers Gloria Montenegro (Women and Vulnerable Populations) and Vicente Zeballos (Justice and Human Rights), as well as other Congress members and civil society representatives.
