Puerto Rican superstar Luis Fonsi visited the Pan American Village in Lima to spend pleasant moments with the athletes —mainly those from his country— participating at the largest multi-sport event in the Americas: The Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

The renowned singer and songwriter arrived in the Andean nation to be part of the Games' opening ceremony, scheduled for Friday, July 26, at the National Stadium, where the attendees will enjoy classics and catchy songs of his repertoire.

During his visit on Wednesday, Fonsi was welcomed by Panam Sports President Neven Ilic and Puerto Rican Olympic Committee President Sara Rosario.

After that, at lunchtime, he was joined by Lima 2019 President Carlos Neuhaus in the Dining Hall.

Fonsi toured the apartments of his fellow Boricuas, who stay at tower 5 of the athletes' village. He entered the building and encouraged them to obtain good results in the competitions

The five-time Latin Grammy Award winner talked to each of the Puerto Rico delegation members and joined them at a special ceremony, in which the Lima 2019 Organizing Committee gave them an official welcome.

He was impressed by the village facilities and the affection he received from athletes representing different countries in the Americas, who did not hesitate to take a picture with him to remember the moment.

"I wish all of you success at this Pan American Games. I'm happy for this and for the participation of my country, Puerto Rico," the international artist said as he left the village.

Fonsi also enjoyed the artistic show prepared for the attending delegations, which featured different typical dances from the coast, highlands and jungle of Peru.
