01:00 | Lima, May. 14.

On behalf of the Peruvian Government, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Claudia Cornejo received a new batch of 700,000 vaccine doses against coronavirus from Pfizer pharmaceutical company.

This cargo from Amsterdam arrived at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport onboard a KLM aircraft on Thursday evening.

Thus, the Mincetur head stressed that the Transition and Emergency Government continues to work non-stop to protect the population from the pandemic.

Besides, it brings relief and hope to many families who —during this time— have protected their elderly relatives.

To date, Peru has received more than 3,100,000 vaccines from three laboratories. Besides, around 1,090,000 AstraZeneca doses will arrive in Peru this month.

Along with those 2,980,000 from Pfizer, there will be approximately 4,070,000 doses.

The commitment agreement signed by the previous administration and COVAX Facility (13,200,000) is added to the list, which ensures the supply of 61,242,600 doses during the present year.
