13:03 | Lima, Dec. 29 (ANDINA).
Universitario de Deportes on Tuesday confirmed the departure of experienced midfielder Nolberto Solano to Colchester United to play in the second division of England's national leagues.
According to Universitario de Deportes sporting director German Leguia, Solano's departure was mainly due to family reasons.
"This is an extraordinary opportunity for Solano, because he would remain close to his children who live with their mother in Greece," Leguia told Andina news agency.
The Peruvian soccer club director thanked Solano efforts towards a successful campaign at the National Championship.
"We wish him good luck in Colchester and hope he has a successful campaign as he did in Universitario, where he gained the respect of fans and was the player who sold more shirts this year," said Leguia.
Upon his return to Lima -December 24- Nolberto Solano confirmed that Colchester United was interested in signing him.
He said he would talk to the people of 'Universitario' first and then would see how things go over days.
