Lima, Oct. 24 (Andina).- President Jose Jeri led police operations early this morning at various points in the capital on the third day of the state of emergency in Lima and Callao to combat citizen insecurity.


Thus, very early this morning, the head of state was in the Puente Piedra district and at the Alfonso Ugarte Police Station in Cercado de Lima, coordinating and supervising actions to capture extortionists and hitmen who attack drivers of public transport and small businesses in the outskirts of the capital.

Recently, the Government declared a 30-day state of emergency in Metropolitan Lima and Callao to combat citizen insecurity.

Since assuming office as head of state, President Jose Jeri helds meeting very often  with mayors, police and Armed Forces officials, as well as former members of the National Police Intelligence Service, to coordinate actions for a safer country.
