The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Friday affirmed that all authorities, at the three levels of government, must do their part to move the country forward.

"We all care about the country, and we all must do our part to move the country forward," Mr. Castillo stressed on this occasion.

The aforementioned pact is an initiative by regional governors. It is supported by mayors for governability in the country.

The top official pointed out that the document is in tune with his feelings and the democratic principles recently expressed in an address delivered at Congress of the Republic.

"I am a democratic man and, as a democratic man, I am respectful of the country's popular will (...) it is time to tell the country that the three levels of government must feel the same, because discrimination and differences do not let us move forward," he emphasized.

Likewise, the President promised to endorse and promote the political and social pact, which will also be handed over to State-run institutions such as the Constitutional Court, the Public Ministry, as well as the Legislative and Judicial Branches.

Furthermore, Mr. Castillo reiterated his announcement to immediately convene a National Agreement session, where Peru's representative forces must be present.

"No one is left behind; all of us must have a voice and a vote," he concluded.

The event was held at the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor. It was also attended by National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR) Chairman Jean Paul Benavente and Association of Municipalities of Peru (AMPE) Head Marcos Gasco.
