Presidency highlights election of Peru as venue for UNWTO Meeting

The Presidency of the Republic on Saturday highlighted the selection of Peru as venue for the 70th Meeting of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Regional Commission for the Americas.

"It is a recognition and great responsibility for Peru to have been chosen as the venue for the 70th Meeting of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Regional Commission for the Americas to be held in 2025," the institution expressed via Twitter.

The Presidential Office indicated that, at said event, countries of the region will meet to discuss proposals on tourism policies and human development for the future.

"This will be an opportunity for our country to once again prove its ability to host international experts and show the world the warmth of its people, its resources, and its culture," the institution emphasized.

The election of Peru as venue for this event took place within the framework of the 68th Meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commission for the Americas, held in Ecuador on June 27-28.

"The Peruvian Government will work intensively to make this event be held in a great manner. Our country relies on first-class infrastructure that is highly suitable for the meetings tourism segment," Foreign Trade-Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Mathews expressed.
