Peruvian President ends Mexico trip with visit to Amauta School

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday visited the Amauta School in Mexico City, where he met with authorities and students of such educational institution, ending his first trip to Mexico.

During his visit, which was part of his international work agenda, the Head of State toured the premises of said school, which is led by Peruvian teacher Sol Corrales, who arrived in Mexico in 1975 with her family.

The teacher shared her story of how she immigrated to this North American nation and how she managed to establish the Amauta School, which currently provides educational services at all levels.

The event also featured Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua, Economy and Finance Minister Pedro Francke, First Lady Lilia Paredes, as well as members of the Peruvian Embassy in Mexico.

After the activity, the Peruvian leader left Mexico and flew to Washington D.C. in the United States, where he is slated to arrive on Sunday afternoon.

Peru's top official has paid an official visit to Mexico, where he participated in the VI Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).


Furthermore, he participated in the ribbon cut ceremony of the travelling exhibition "The Author Walks: drawings in the new chronicle by Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala," organized by the Peruvian Embassy in Mexico.

On September 20, the President of the Republic and the Foreign Affairs Minister are both expected to participate in the Session of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C. (U.S.). Upon arrival, they will be received by Secretary-General of the aforementioned hemispheric organization, Luis Almagro.
