During the meeting, the Inca nation's diplomat expressed the Peruvian Government's willingness to continuing to strengthen relations with
WFP and thanked the work undertaken by the organization in the South American country.
Likewise, the
Executive-Director highlighted the excellent ties between the WFP and Peru, and underlined the importance of continuing raising the collaboration level.
Furthermore,
Beasley indicated he is interested in visiting the Inca country, as it is an example of the relationship between an upper-middle-income nation and the WFP.
In this sense,
Ambassador Martinetti offered all the support to materialize the Executive-Director's visit, so he can personally appreciate the positive results of the partnership among the Peruvian Government, WFP, and the private sector,
aimed at fighting anemia.
The ceremony took place in Rome on June 13.
