Peru's Italy envoy named permanent representative to FAO

Ambassador Julio Eduardo Martinetti Macedo has been named Permanent Representative of Peru to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

According to a supreme resolution published today in El Peruano official gazette, Martinetti is appointed as Permanent Representative of Peru to said organizations —all based in Rome (Italy)— to start serving on May 1, 2019.

Corresponding credentials and full powers shall be issued to the diplomat as provided by the aforementioned document.

It is worth noting Julio Eduardo Martinetti Macedo currently serves as Ambassador of Peru to Italy. He was appointed as such in March this year.

Additionally, the career diplomat was deputy foreign affairs minister of Peru from April 22 to December 30, 2015. 

He has served at embassies in Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Argentina, and as alternate permanent representative of Peru to UNESCO.
