The traditional "Changing of the Guard" ceremony took place on Sunday at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital Lima.

The Changing of the Guard is currently a tourist attraction at the Government Palace, which is usually performed at noon.

This is a first-rate activity at the Executive Branch headquarters —with a strictly military protocol established in 1940 by then-President Manuel Prado Ugarteche.

On certain occasions, this activity is presided over by the President of the Republic, who can be accompanied by State Ministers.

In fact, it may feature the Mariscal Domingo Nieto (Marshall Domingo Nieto) Cavalry Regiment Escort on Sundays.

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte led the last "Changing of the Guard" ceremony on March 5.
