The First Supraprovincial Prosecutor's Office Specialized in Money Laundering Crimes has extended the investigation against ex-President Pedro Castillo, current President Dina Boluarte, and Henry Shimabukuro for the crimes of illegal financing of political organizations, money laundering, and criminal organization.
The alleged commission of these crimes might have occurred during the electoral campaign of Peru Libre (Free Peru party) in 2021.
Prosecutor Richard Rojas decided to include Castillo, Boluarte, and Shimabukuro in the investigation into Vladimir Cerron and the party.
Peru Libre is the political organization founded by Cerron.
