Peru: President meets with governors to discuss new Central Highway

In order to discuss the new Central Highway Project, President Dina Boluarte met with Governors Zosimo Cardenas (Junin region), Juan Chombo (Pasco), Lieutenant Governor Juan Paredes (Huanuco), and Metropolitan Lima Mayor Rafael Lopez Aliaga.

During the gathering, the Head of State stressed that this project is a public work essential for the central area and the rest of the country, underlining that it will boost trade and tourism sectors.

The top official expressed her commitment that the public work should be carried out in unity with regions, without corruption, the Presidential Office reported via its official Twitter account on Thursday.

In turn, the guests agreed that the new highway will mean development and the fulfillment of a dream postponed for years in the central region, while reaffirming their support for the public work to start as soon as possible.

On this occasion, President Boluarte was accompanied by Cabinet Chief Alberto Otarola and Transportation-Communications Minister Paola Lazarte.

This event was held at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

It must be noted that the aforementioned public work will be developed under the government-to-government modality with France.
