The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, on Thursday stated that he will visit the city of Cusco and provide advance notice of the trip, as he has done in other regions.

His reaction came in response to a local media report that suggested an alleged reason for the suspension of his schedule and the postponement of his trip to the Imperial City.

Through his official account @josejeriore, the Head of State addressed the issue.

"Hello. No, that is not the reason. It turns out that unscheduled visits were being announced. Travel agendas are communicated two or three days in advance, not through long-term announcements as in this case. I will go to my beloved Cusco, but I will notify formally as has been done," he expressed.

The Head of State explained that announcements of visits that had not been scheduled were being circulated.

In that regard, the top official reaffirmed his commitment to visiting the region, but clarified that the planning of his official trips follows a formal information protocol with a two- or three-day notice.

"I will travel to my beloved Cusco, but I will provide formal notice as has always been done," he concluded.
