President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday affirmed that Peru will defeat the invisible enemy of coronavirus (COVID-19)
thanks to the joint efforts of all sectors in the country and the valuable work of the National Police and Armed Forces.
During his visit to the National Police Emergency Squad headquarters in Lima, the President expressed gratitude to police officers who patrol the streets day after day to enforce the provisions given by the Government in the fight against this deadly virus.
"I have no doubt that we are going to win this battle, because there are Peruvians who fulfill their role, and you represent them. You have defended the country when required, you have confronted terrorism, and
you are currently fighting other enemies, such as drug trafficking and crime, but today you are facing another silent enemy," he said.
The Head of State went on to say that this task is not easy and requires sacrifice and commitment to the homeland, as demonstrated by the law enforcement officials, who are far away from their families taking care of the society.
